oUR chARITIES

We started the Luminaries for Love concept in 2020 and were able to raise $8,500.  in 2021, we raised $13,000.  In 2022 and 2023, we raised $10,000.  We really appreciate your support!  In 2024, we anticipate donating around $20-$25 per purchase to charity and are hoping to raise another $10,000.

Luminaries For Love has chosen to donate to the following charitable organizations.  We continue to support their missions and hope you will like them too.  Purchase our products or make a donation to further their cause!

       The charity that I wish to support is Misericordia. They house and support children and adults with mild to severe physical and mental disabilities. In Misericordia’s care, the men and women get to live in their own community where all their needs are taken care of. Most people with mental/physical disabilities do not get a chance to live normally, but within the Misericordia communities they get to live, work, and have fun. The Misericordia website states, “People with intellectual and developmental disabilities not only have a right to life, but to one worth living.” This charity not only provides people in need with care, but also provides them with the ability to live a happy and peaceful life.

       I feel so lucky that I have a warm and safe home and I can't even imagine what kind of pain, suffering and loneliness the homeless experience. I want to help them, so I plan to donate profits from Luminaries for Life to The Night Ministry in Chicago. The Night Ministry provides support, housing and health care to adults and children who are homeless. They improve lives by helping people find shelter, work, food, healthcare, and friendship. Please consider buying even just one luminary starter set this year, so I can donate even more to this great organization!!!

       I've always been an animal lover, but it all changed in 2021 when I adopted my first cat (originally named Tom Brady - now Gandalf).  The first time I officially met him was when I went to the pet store with my mom.  He was the nicest and fluffiest cat I'd ever met and from that day on I begged my mom every single day to bring him home.  Then the day finally came he arrived at my house!!! To this day I still think of him as the best cat ever.  That's why i want to donate to C.A.R.E. in my area.

        I am excited to support the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation (UCCRF).  Too many of my close family members and family friends have been affected by cancer. This Foundation plays a key role in helping enhance cancer care, develop more effective and safer therapies, and promote prevention and screening in our communities.  The University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center is known for testing unconventional ideas and brings about monumental advances in cancer care. Continued research is the only way to find a cure.  Thank you for helping me support this important effort!

Being a LUMINARIES FOR LOVE Block Leader has been a very fun way to enjoy the holidays with our neighborhood.  The whole neighborhood love to see it come together.  This is a tradition I will always want to continue.  Thank you to LUMINARIES FOR LOVE for the awesome experience and the donation to the World Wildlife Fund.  That donation will help share our light around the world!

We were excited to have Charlotte join the LFL team as a block leader in 2023 focusing on her West Kenilworth IL neighborhood.  Charlotte has chosen PAWS for her charity because she loves cats so much!  This year she even rescued a 4 month old stray kitten and helped take care of it until she ensured it wasn't lost and even helped find its new forever home.  She even dressed as a cat for Halloween.  We appreciate Charlotte and her big heart!!!
